You Know It's a Good Day When...

Today has been one of those lovely kind of SoCal days that feels like spring the way the rest of the country experiences spring...the day started off at a moist and cool 60 degrees after overnight rain (a precious rarity here!) and warmed up to a cozy 72 degrees in the sun. A strong breeze gave the day that springtime wind in leaves soundtrack, and the grass and palms seemed extra bright and green after their refreshing soak.

I've been meaning to dig into a new origami book that landed on my desk recently, Origami Masterclass: Flowers from Race Point Publishing, so when I had a few moments today I flipped through it and a sweet lily design caught my eye. I pulled a floral pattern paper from my stash (you caught me...I do, in fact, keep origami paper in my desk drawer), and spent a few minutes zen-ing out with the repetitive folds. 

When I took the flower outside to grab a picture of it in the sunlight, I hadn't even noticed that my flats coordinated with the paper. Sometimes your palette of the day finds you, I guess. You know it's a good day when the art matches your shoes.
